Brodie is Orika’s Senior Rail Engineer with over 12 years’ experience in design and engineering across Queensland. Brodie is a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ). Throughout his career, Brodie has had wide exposure to many projects within the fields of both passenger and heavy haul railway infrastructure. Brodie’s ability to draw upon his experience allows him to carry out high level concept designs and planning of major rail projects, as well as provide a valuable input into the detail design phase of the project. Brodie’s knowledge of railway engineering spans across mainline alignment design, corridor preservation and selection, complex station yard stabling design, turnout replacements and major track upgrades. Brodie also has experience in culvert replacements, flood protection levees and diversion channels, mine haul road design and site access road designs

Lana has extensive experience working in the area of environmental science having completed her Honors Degree in Environmental Science (Ecology). Lana is dedicated to finding the balance between environmental and social systems. Lana is passionate about sharing scientific knowledge. Lana specialises in communicating complex scientific concepts about the components, processes, risks to and values of aquatic ecosystems for a broad range of audiences. Combining a strong scientific background, with a creative for flair for drawing and design, Lana creates robust conceptual models that are appealing, informative and, most importantly, useful for developing a shared understanding between stakeholders and present a powerful communication tool. Lana has experience modelling a very wide range of subjects and most recently has focused on synthesising emerging Great Barrier Reef science as well as groundwater dependent aquatic ecosystems. Lana received the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand Young Environmental Professional of the Year Award (2008) for her aquatic ecosystem classification and conceptual modelling work.
Mitchell is an expereinced transport modeller with a broad depth of skills covering micro, meso and strategic modelling capabilities. Mitchell is a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) and passionate about supporting informed decision making that improves community and societal outcomes. He is committed to finding a balance in both professional and personal life. Mitchell’s professional focus is on the development, use and application of transport modelling to provide insight into complex systems with multiple variables and competing interests or influences. Mitchell has dedicated his professional career to supporting informed decision-making in strategic infrastructure planning across a broad range of civil engineering areas including: transport and traffic; stormwater quality and quantity; water and wastewater; geotechnical and erosion and sediment control. This provides Mitchell with a broad perspective and insight for the cross pollination of ideas and methodologies between different practice areas.
Maggy has over 25 years’ experience as an editor and over-writer. In that role, she has worked for a diversity of public and private sector clients on tasks that range from environmental impact statements, through technical and statistical reports to marketing brochures, web content, catalogues and self-published books. Her freelance career followed a successful decade in government, where she liaised with engineers and architects at a senior level. She has also written a number of educational texts, some of which have been best sellers and/or won major publishing awards. Maggie won the prize awarded by her university to its top female postgraduate when she completed her MA (English literature).
