Orika Consulting (Tom) has been engaged by the Queensland government to provide advice and direction on the strategic needs analysis for the Cross River Rail project. Cross River Rail is the top priority on the new infrastructure priority list to plan for Queensland’s future. In this role Tom managed the needs assessment and the development of an analytical framework to assess project options to inform the Preliminary Evaluation and Business Case phase.
The project will met Infrastructure Australia’s key goal “to prioritise and progress nationally significant infrastructure that could boost national productivity and transform cities.”

Orika Consulting (Tom) has been engaged by the Port of Melbourne to support the development of the Rail Access Strategy (RAS) for the port. The RAS is required under the Port Management Act 1995 (Vic) including consideration of a Port Rail Shuttle. To facilitate this, consideration has been given to rail freight shuttles from new and existing inland rail terminals (hubs) and interfaces with on-dock and near-dock rail facilities.
Tom has completed an 8 month contract with a large Queensland Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP) developing governance and program management tools for the management of the Strategic Enablement Program (SEP). This work also required due diligence reviews of ICT programs and enablement projects to ensure they met criteria for progressing to the delivery committee for endorsement.
Lana has completed work for a public service department developing environmental models showing the natural processes associated with marine eco-systems. Lana has provided important graphical artifacts that enable effective science communication to facilitate effective decision-making across a diverse range of stakeholders. Lana’s work will also support appropriate prioritisation of investment and activities in support of the long-term sustainability of the Great Barrier Reef.

Maggie has completed development of an extended course on Corporate Social Responsibility for offshore delivery by the Southbank Institute (Brisbane). She has also recently completed two History books as principle author for Oxford University Press (OUP) for Australia’s National Curriculum. The series won the 2012 Australian Publishing Association (APA) award for educational excellence in its category (junior secondary) and the APA’s overall award for educational excellence.
